Action Blanks

This image shows two of the blanks displaying each end. They were originally a project that Dan started but did not complete. The idea was to make a few large single shot bolt actions suitable for the big cartridges like the 378 Weatherby and 416 Rigby using a bolt with lugs the same diameter as the bolt body. The blanks are 12.5" long, 2" OD turned true to the ID. As the blank on the left shows there is a 1.250" diameter honed hole that is 9.5" deep. On the bolt lug end (shown on the right) there is a .920" diameter reamed through-hole. This end would also be opened for barrel-attach threads. The material is heat treated 4150. If you have an interest in making your own large bolt action receiver this is an excellent start with the basic round work already complete.
