Shed Hunting

Here are a pair of mule deer sheds found while hiking the backcountry of Montana in July of 2004. I took this image when I found the antlers. The second shed is in the top center of the image. It is unusual to find a matched pair so close together. I suspect the buck knocked them off on the tree to the left. Another time Adam and I found a set of small 4-point whitetail antlers side by side about 6 feet apart.
