Benchmark Montana

The Benchmark strip is true anomaly for a backcountry airstrip. It is 30 miles to the nearest town, Augusta, and right on the east edge of the Bob Marshall wilderness. What makes this airstrip unique is that it is paved - all 6000' of it. But since it is just east of the continental divide, where the wind really knows how to blow, it is subject to some bad crosswinds and wind shear.
